Definition

Example

Adverbs of Definite Frequency

These adverbs tell us exactly how often something occurs.

We hold a book club meeting monthly.

The adverb “monthly” tells us exactly how often the book club meets.

Adverbs of Indefinite Frequency

Although these adverbs give us an idea about how often something occurs, they DO NOT give an exact time frame.
